October 1977. Twan van der Heijden, Cees Michielsen and Bert Vermijs of the group King's Ransom were joined by Jos Hustings, then performing under the name of Carmine Queen. A new group was formed whose name was easily chosen: King's Ransom And Carmine Queen. The compositions of Bert and Jos, which were commonly arranged by all members, generated a surprising repertoire. February 1978. After two successful try-outs for a small audience, they decided to bring out an album. Circumvision was recorded after three days of intense rehearsals. The album was released through the Dutch Pop Promotion Foundation. Only 500 LPs were distributed. 1979. Despite their relative success, especially in England, where the album was reviewed by the magazine Sounds, they split up. In 1980, however, they joined again for a single performance in Maastricht under the name Silent Revolutions (a try-out for the Spiral Motion Project). Later that year Bert and Jos were joined by singer Charlot Rutten during an improvisational session. More sessions followed and ultimately resulted in the unique Cellar Tapes trilogy. 2002.
